We'll meet with you to discuss your specific family history research needs. This is where you will provide all known information about your specific research question. Together we'll create a Research Plan. This typically takes about an hour.

We'll locate and copy a specific document identified by you. With the Midwest Genealogy Center, Jackson County Courthouse, the WWI Museum, and Truman Presidential Library all nearby we have access to many different types of records.  (Additional fees for travel outside Greater Kansas City Metro.)

We'll springboard from the Initial Consultation to research your specific question. We gather documents such as census records, probate records, vital records (birth/marriage/death certificates), as well as newspapers, printed genealogies, and other historical documents appropriate to the locale of your ancestors. We'll compile a report detailing what records were found, what we can determine from those records, and recommendations for future research. (min 5 hours; $100 initial retainer)

Using high-quality audio/video equipment we'll meet with you in a comfortable "coffee-chat" style to record your family's stories, preserving them for future generations. All too often the details of the past are lost before younger generations desire to hear them. Allow us to capture these precious memories for decades to come!
